Help: Browsing
About browsing
Browsing is a way of finding books when you don't have anything particular in
mind. It is based on links so is useful if you find forms hard to fill in.
To browse for a book select the browse categories link in the navigation bar
and you will see a series of options. You select the categories you
want to look at from the list provided. Some categories have further
sub-categories whereas others lead directly to a list of books.
Some examples of browsing
If you enjoy historical fiction and just want to see what's available you could
do a browse as follows:
- Select the browse categories link from the navigation bar
- Select the link for Adult fiction
- Select the link for historical fiction
- A list of books in this category will be shown and you can move through the
pages using the next and previous results links or the page numbers.
Some categories have further sub-categories. For example, if you wanted to see
what autobiographies we have of footballers you could use the browse to do this
as follows:
- Select the browse categories link from the navigation bar
- Select the link for Adult non-fiction
- Select the link for Autobiography
- Select the link for sport
- Select the link for football
- Look through the results.
